Who can participate?
Everybody can enroll in our services. Spedia welcomes all Internet surfers, including International Surfers. Spedia pays all Spedia Members in US dollars.

How do you make money with Spedia?
You can make money with Spedia in 6 different ways:

SpediaBar - Surf the Net and have the SpediaBar active on your desktop. Go to your favorite web sites or visit our advertisers' sites if you're interested in their offers. To see a demo of the Spedia Bar, click here.

Instant Cash - You can make over $150 in just one hour by signing up for promotions. There are over 90 promotions to choose from.

Receive E-mails - You can make 5-10 points for each e-mail you receive from our advertisers. You can unsubscribe at any time. Your privacy is fully protected.

Shop Online - Visit our shopping partners for special offerings and promotions. You will be entered in a drawing to win our weekly sweepstakes.

Spedia Games - You can play games and make money while you play.

Refer Your Friends - The referral compensation structure for surfing is 10%, 5%, 5%, 5%, 5% for a total of 5 levels!

How does Spedia generate its revenues?
Spedia sells advertising space to marketers and sponsors and distributes most of the revenues to its members.

What kind of ads do you display?
We use your profile to serve you ads that you might be interested in. Our ad server manages the placement of all ad banners. Spedia has a strict policy related to ad banners and other advertising materials, so you don't have to worry about indecent postings. You and your visitors (if you have a web site) will not get frustrated with the ad materials. To learn more about our ad policy, please click here.

Do I need to buy anything?
No, you do not. Spedia membership is absolutely free. We will be rewarding you for using Spedia every month by sending you a check.

How can I enter the Sweepstakes?
Spedia has developed a Shop Online Assistant that allows our members to gain access to a list of well-established e-commerce channels. When you visit our Affiliate Programs, a pop-up window will appear on your screen. To enter the Sweepstakes, please click on the "Go Spedia" button. Every time you visit an affiliate site using one of the provided links, you will get one entry for our 10,000 Point Affiliate Sweepstakes (up to 50 entries per drawing per registered member). Drawings will be administered weekly.

Can more than one family member join Spedia?
All members of a family can join our service independently if they want, no matter that they live at the same address, or share the same computer. (Each member must create a separate account.) Our service is available all over the world for anybody over 14 years of age.

Can I change my User Profile, and how?
Once your register, you can change only some of your user profile data, such as your password and street address. You cannot change your name, country of residence, and demographic and interests information. (This policy is enforced in order to prevent account theft.) You can change all other fields by going to the User Info page of your account. After you've made the necessary changes, you need to press the Change Profile button at the bottom of the page.

Can I change my user name/password?
You can change your password, but not your user name. You can change your password by logging first and then selecting the 'Change Password' option on the bottom of the User Info page.

Do I need to povide valid information?
Yes. Your must provide your real, valid information in every field. We obviously need your full and completely accurate mailing address in order to send you the check. But we also need your real demographic and interest information in order to be able to display advertising material that is relevant to your interests.

I forgot my password. How can I get it?
You need to go to the login page and choose the "Forgot Your Password" link, then follow the instructions.

How can I cancel my account?
You can cancel your account at any time by pressing the "Terminate account" button located at the bottom of your Profile page.

If I cancel my account, will I be able to resume my membership later?
If you have voluntarily cancelled your account you can reinstate it at any time. To do so, go to the login page and choose the "Reinstate your account" link.

When can I start to generate points?
You can join now and start making money (as well as building your referral group) immediately.

What is one ad point worth?
The value of the points changes every month based on our revenues. You can check the latest point value from the "Payout Rate" link on the HOME page.

How can I check the value of my points?
Members can check their account balance and the number of accumulated points at anytime by clicking here. If the revenues for the month are not collected we cannot assign a fair value to your points, hence the "Total Cash Value" line on your statement will read "unavailable". Please be patient. We work hard to collect the money.

The SpediaBar does not seem to generate points for me. Why?

What Are total payable points, total paid points, and current period?
The Total Payable Points section shows the amount of points that have been assigned a dollar value. Under the "Current Period" section you will see the points you've earned for the current period, which are not yet assigned a dollar value. If you have requested payment, as soon as we send you the check, the points from POINTS PAYABLE will be transferred to POINTS PAID.

My balance shows that the dollar value of my points is "unavailable". Why?
The points you collect are convertible to cash at the end of each month. Once we receive all advertising revenues for the month we will pass on to you a percentage of the revenues by assigning value per point. After we estimate the point value you'll be able to see the amount you have accumulated in $USD, not only in points.


Is there a maximum amount of points that I am allowed to earn per month?
No. There is no limit in the number of points, or the amount of dollars that you can earn per month.

I did not receive the points from the Instant Cash Promotions. Why?
There are six possible reasons:

1. You used a different e-mail address. When you register with those programs you have to use the same e-mail address that you have used when you registered with Spedia. If you believe that you have used a different e-mail address, you can claim your points by clicking here.

2. We will credit your account with the points when we receive a confirmation from the companies that offer those programs. It might take a month for the whole process to take place.

3. You have registered for a promotion that is not offered for your country. Right beside the name of the program there is a symbol showing whether it is available for USA only, internationally, or other.

4. You were not logged in your Spedia account.

5. Your browser did not support cookies.

6. Your browser had its image loading feature disabled.

What do Fast Points mean?
If you have registered for our Instant Cash Promotions you will be able to make "Fast Points" by visiting those web sites. After you register, the Fast Points will be automatically enabled for the programs that you have registered for. You can make up to 3 Fast Points per CLICK per program per day. You must visit and log into the selected site for at least 1 minute to qualify for Fast Points. The maximum number of payable clicks (Fast Points) per program is 6.

Do I have to click on banners?
NO! Spedia does not reward you for clicking on banners. You accumulate points when you have the SpediaBar active on your desktop and browse the Internet. Please visit our advertisers ONLY if you are interested in their services and offerings.

What do the colors of the bar mean?
The green light means you're earning points.

The yellow color means that you're not getting points at the moment due to:

  • Internet connection error (it is possible that your internet is very slow, or your ISP has some problems)
  • Server Error
  • Passive Internet browsing (you have to change URL from your browser window, or by clicking on the banners shown on the Spedia bar).

The red color means that you're not getting points due to:

  • There is no active browser, or you have a browser different from IE or Netscape Navigator.
  • You have been inactive for a long time (approximately 3 minutes). If you have a slow Internet connection, you may lose some points during the time the bar is trying to connect to the Spedia server to send information.

What browsers does Spedia support?
Spedia bar is compatible with the following browsers only:

  • Netscape Navigator 3.0+
  • Netscape Communicator 4.0+
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0+

How can I download the Spedia Bar?
To use the SpediaBar, you first must register with www.spedia.com. Once you complete the registration process you can download the SpediaBar and start generating cash. Please remember your login name and password, as you will need them to log into all Spedia services.

  1. Download the SpediaBar software. If you use Netscape Navigator, Netscape Communicator, or Microsoft Internet Explorer you must download the spedia.exe file in a separate Windows directory such as C:\spedia. Click here to download Spedia bar for Netscape 4.03 and above.
  2. Start using the SpediaBar by running the spedia.exe file in your Windows environment.

If you get any of the following error messages:
"The dynamic link library MFC42.DLL could not be found"
-or-
"THE ORDINAL 6880 COULD NOT BE LOCATED IN THE DYNAMIC LINK LIBRARY MFC42.DLL"
-or-
"The file is linked to missing export MFC42.DLL:6880"
you must download MFC42.DLL into the Windows system directory.

If you receive the following message: "Can not connect to Spedia Server. Check your Internet Connection options and try to login again.", you will need to delete the Spedia.dat file from the directory where you have stored the Spedia.exe file. This procedure will ensure that your Spedia.dat file is properly initialized.

What if my browser does not accept cookies?
If your browser is not set up to accept cookies, Spedia will not be able to track your points or grant you access to your account properties. All users need cookie support to successfully accumulate points. Cookies are used to track the user session, to authenticate users, as well as to manage Ad Point profiles. To check if your browser accepts cookies, visit the Internet Options section of your Internet Explorer or Preferences section of your Netscape Navigator.

What is your free domain name service?
If you have a site like: http://www.provider.com/users/~peter we could give you: http://peter.spedia.net. It is simple. Every time someone enters your new easy-to-remember peter.spedia.net, we will automatically redirect him/her to your site. Of course, your users can continue using your current URL.

What name should I register?
You are free to chose whatever name you like for your Web site. Among the best choices for names are: your personal name, your product name, your company name, etc. However, make sure that you do not use names that are unlawful, harassing, libelous, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene or otherwise objectionable. You may not use characters like: "? & @ <> =+% . : ; /" in your name. All names are distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis. After registering your new site name, the old name of your site will still remain valid. Thus you will not lose any of your current site visitors which know only your old site address.

Do you copy my original web site to spedia.net?
Spedia DOES NOT copy your existing web site. It merely provides URL call redirection services using HTML frame or HTTP header format. That is the reason, Spedia does not provide Web storage space of any kind.

Do I have to have cookies enabled?
If your browser is not set up to accept cookies Spedia will not be able to track your ad points or grant you access to your account properties. All users need cookie support to successfully accumulate ad points. Cookies are used to track the user session, to authenticate users, as well as to manage Ad Point profile. To check if your browser accepts cookies visit Internet Options section of your Internet Explorer or Preferences section of your Netscape Navigator.

How do I uninstall Surf+?
To Uninstall Surf+ please follow these steps:

  1. Select the Start Menu
  2. Choose the Run command from the menu
  3. Type in surfplus.exe /u and hit the O.K. button
  4. Answer 'Yes' to the question that pops up
  5. After you uninstall Surf+, please close all the IE windows.

Spedia has replaced my home page. How can I restore my original one?
To restore your original home page, right-click on the left side of the SpediaBar and choose Spedia options from the menu. Go to Startup and uncheck the box that says "Make Spedia my home page".

What is Spedia Premier Membership?
Spedia would like to reward its most active members for their commitment and loyalty. Spedia is happy to announce the launch of Spedia Premier Membership Club. Spedia Premier Members will benefit from premium payout rates that are 20%-50% above the standard rate for the billing period.

What does it take to qualify for Spedia Premier Membership?

Spedia will grant one STAR per day to all its members that actively use the SpediaBar to navigate through the Internet for at least two hours per day. You need twenty (20) STARS per month to earn a Premier monthly status and enjoy the benefits for the month. In order to qualify for the Premier membership status you also need to sign up for at least 20 Instant Cash Promotions per month. You can track the number of STARS you have accumulated online using the Statistics page. At the end of the month, Spedia will grant 20%-50% bonus SpediaBar points to all premier members to reward them for their commitment and loyalty.

How does your referral program work?
You can refer as many relatives and friends as you want. The referral compensation structure for surfing is 10%, 5%, 5%, 5%, 5% for a total of 5 levels. We prohibit any unsolicited e-mails and/or postings in discussion groups, bulletin boards, and other public domain groups. There is no limit on the number of friends and relatives you can refer.

How can I refer my friends?
You have to give your reference number to friends/relatives who want to register with Spedia. They have to enter this reference number in the appropriate box on the registration form.

Where can I find my reference number?
Your reference number is a blue, 6-, or 7-digit number that appears in the User Info page of your account.

How to refer people more effectively?
You can promote our get-paid-to-surf services to your friends and relatives. We prohibit any unsolicited e-mails and/or postings in discussion groups, bulletin boards, and other public domain groups. To read our entire SPAM Policy click here.

Some of the accepted forms of promotion include:
1. Word of mouth. You can tell your friends and family about Spedia.
2. Send e-mails to your friends and family. Unsolicited e-mails are prohibited.
3. Post a Spedia link on your web site.

How to post a Spedia link on my web site?
1. Copy the following HTML text template into your HTML document:

2. Replace XXXXX in the first line of the HTML template with your own Spedia reference ID number. Thus, every time someone decides to register for Spedia through that link, they will be taken directly to the registration form with your reference number automatically entered there. In order to accomplish the process successfully, your referral should fill out the registration form completely before switching to another page from the site. Do I have to use the SpediaBar in order to get the points from my associates?
The SpediaBar does not have a matching surfing requirement at this time! That means you will get paid for all your referrals' surfing time, regardless of how long you surf yourself.

When do I get paid?
When your account reaches $30.00 you will qualify to receive a check from us. At that time the "Request Payment" button will appear on your balance page, and you can request your check. Have in mind that during the last two weeks of the month the "Request Payment" button will not be visible even though your balance may have reached the minimum of $30.00. In other words, you have to request your payment at the beginning of the billing period or wait for the next one.

After you press the "Request Payment" button, it will disappear from your balance page. That means that we have received your request and your info will be processed in the next 2-3 weeks. Spedia does not automatically issue checks upon pressing the "Request Payment" button. We pay our members by check once a month. The initial pay cycle takes at least 60 days from the time you start using our services. This is due to the delay in processing coming from advertisers and other corporate sponsors. Once we receive all advertising revenues for the month we will pass on to you a percentage of the revenues by assigning value per ad point.

In case the check has been lost or stolen, Spedia cannot take responsibility. All payments are sent using first class U.S. mail service. Spedia cannot make stop payments and/or trace checks.

How can I request my paycheck?

If you have accumulated at least $30 in points, you can demand a check from us. You can do that by pressing on the 'Request Payment' button that will appear in your balance page.

Is it possible to let my balance accumulate more than $30 before I request a paycheck?

Yes. If your account exceeds $30 and you want to defer the payment of your check, you can do that if you wish. Note that as soon as your balance reaches the minimum of $30, the ‘Request Payment button will appear on your balance. If you want to let your balance accumulate more, DO NOT press this button, until you reach the desired amount.

Can I download the bar on two computers?

Yes, you can download the SpediaBar on more than one computer but you're not allowed to use it simultaneously from more than one, using the same account.

Does Spedia examine my computer?
The SpediaBar does not scan your hard drive. We only examine the active memory, while your SpediaBar is running, for programs which are either incompatible with the SpediaBar, or result in fraudulent generation of points. Examples of such programs include software that provides automation of repetitive mouse or keyboard tasks or programs that attempt to hide or disable the SpediaBar. Repetitive usage of such programs is considered a violation of our policy and will result in account lock.

Hackers Beware!

Can I redirect to yourname.spedia.net utilizing URL redirection technology?
Automated redirection to yourname.spedia.net URLs utilizing URL redirection technology is strongly prohibited. Members involved in such activities will lose their membership privileges and will forfeit all accumulated ad point/cash balances and other bonuses.

Can I register multiple accounts?
It is against our rules for members to have multiple accounts for the purpose of obtaining referral points. If you are found to have multiple accounts, which you have used to make cross-references, Spedia will immediately lock your accounts. Furthermore, the member will forfeit all accumulated point/cash balances and other bonuses.

You are allowed to have multiple accounts only if each of these accounts is in different Get Paid To Use the Net programs (co-branded sites) of the Spedia Network. For example, you may have one account here at www.spedia.net, but also have another account at about.spedia.net, which is an About-branded Get Paid To Use the Net service administered by Spedia. You cannot, however, run the SpediaBar and any other Spedia technology Bar (such as the About.com Bar) simultaneously.

What is your Anti-Spam Policy?
Spedia will immediately lock any account which it believes, in its sole discretion, is transmitting or is otherwise connected with any spam or other unsolicited bulk e-mails and postings. SPAM includes, but is not limited to, unsolicited e-mails and/or postings in discussion groups, bulletin boards, public domain groups, IRC, ICQ, and chat groups. SPAM messages are generally prohibited by most network providers and certain jurisdictions, and those users employing them may be subject to fines and/or imprisonment. Spedia does not allow its members to utilize SPAM messages. The company will automatically lock all spamming accounts. The only acceptable methods of referring someone to our Spedia program are through communication with family and friends, as well as through establishing a link to our web site on member-owned web site.

What is Spedia Hall-of-Shame?
Hall-of-Shame is a record of all red-flagged accounts. Now you can search our Hall of Shame database for accounts that have been red-flagged by our systems in suspicion of one or more of the following fraudulent activities:

· SPAM report
· Automated generation of ad points
· Multiple cross-referenced accounts
· Automated redirection to yourname.spedia.net URLs
· Usage of task automation software while SpediaBar is active
· Continuous lack of response to system messages for application upgrade

If your account is in our Hall of Shame database you will not be able to accumulate points and/or access your account. If you would like to dispute our action, please send an e-mails to account@spedia.net. We want to apologize in advance if the freezing of your account is caused by mistake.

What is your policy regarding automated accumulation of points?
Spedia strongly prohibits any usage of devices, machines, computers or other equipment for automatic/computerized generation of ad points. Spedia has a very strict policy in this regard, as the computerized generation of ad points negatively affects the value of the Spedia members' ad points. Spedia will immediately lock any account which it believes, in its sole discretion, is utilizing or is otherwise connected with any automatic/computerized generation of ad points or other similar illegal activities. If the member is involved in such activities, and/or if the membership is terminated or canceled for any reason, the member will forfeit all accumulated ad point balances and other bonuses.
